It listens for alexa, and then will then start listening/recording/analyzing/whatever.

If it were in fact listening/recording/analyzing/whatever in at all times and sending all conversations without the "alexa" prompt over to amazon servers for whatever reason - then I believe an employee would have spilled the beans by now.

but who knows. I care very little. I have a smart phone and am on the internet several hours a day. My privacy is long since gone.

 

How is it supposed to pick up "Alexa" if it isn't listening 24/7? I've done enough of the Cortana hits on UHRS to never want one of those.

 

sorry I worded that shitty. Of course it's listening at all times. It's listening for the "alexa" prompt though, and I doubt conversations without an alexa prompt are being sent over and analyzed by anyone - or else someone would have blown the whistle on that pretty quickly.
