this still looks like it did in 1997 when the internet first got popular and i'd go to the library and lose my mind being amazed that i got to read simpsons scripts

 

I had very absentee parents growing up- my mom peaced out to "buy shoes" when I was 6 and I didn't see her too much after that (it was the lady version of dad going out for a pack of smokes and not coming back. she got charged by the state for abandonment and was forced to see us some, she wasn't very attentive. yeah) and my dad took up with my sister's high school classmate who was also my babysitter...while she was in high school. I didn't get much in the way of parenting to say the least. Whether or not I agree with Matt's parentals all the time (and I rarely do), they were both actually there and put in the time and effort you wish all parents would. Matt's dad was out teaching him to ride his first dirtbike when he was 3. He went to private schools, he played junior pro league golf and raced dirtbikes and bmx with sponsorships and learned to fly and worked in his mom's restaurant. They were actively involved in his life. They gave him their time and their love and they raised him to be a pretty friggen cool and successful person who I love. So, I'll bend over backwards to help them pretty much. I honestly can't even imagine the pain Matt is experiencing, cause I just didn't have that type of love from my own parents. I can't magically heal my FIL, but I can keep helping make sure things go as well as they can, given the situation.

I'm really hoping his dad will stablize enough that we can move him into the house here, otherwise I'll be on a plane in a hot second to go move there for as long as needed. The FIL wanted to be alone for years, he lived in the woods to be alone, and he doesn't want to be alone anymore, so I sure as hell won't let him.

 

well I have a very early day tomorrow so heading to bed enjoy the massive sergey batch

oh by the way in the only hockey news that matters my son played his first game for the high school and they one 12 - 4

 

@leafs4_cup can I draft him in fantasy? I'm pretty sure he'd be just as good as half the scrubs I currently have this week.
