We used to have the meanest cat. Hated EVERYONE. After a couple years of age he was still a mean bastard but I'll be damned if he didn't use people as heaters and at least lightly tolerate others at that point. Those rough cats always have the most personality.

I've had underweight kittens before who I could just bottle feed, and somewhat underweight adult cats and dogs who I could feed mass amounts of high cal food, but I've never had such a violently malnourished cat with such bad mouth problems to boot. I've been using kitten food and such cause it has more calories, but I'll see if I can spoon feed him some baby food to boot! He likes when I give him food cause he thinks it's special so I bet I can get him to eat some extra by hand feeding him baby food. You're a lifesaver <3

I went fully nuts when my apartment complex was having the feral kittens put down and Matt came over to find a few dozen in my apartment, all staring at him. ( I will neither confirm nor deny that I ever touched any traps with a pair of bolt cutters. I wouldnt do that. That's not rule abiding!) And then the next week I had a scrawny dog who was due to be put down at the shelter when he came over, she really loved to mother the kittens too. He uh...he has always known I was a bit of a fruit loop when it comes to animals! He's never shocked or annoyed but his mom kvetches about my "rescue complex" while also telling him (and me to my face once) that I wouldn't be a good mother. Thanks, Grinch!

And yasss, I love the rough ones! Nothing is more satisfying than machurian cat-idating a former harbinger of evil and rage into a lovable agent of evil and rage.
