Hang in there - the probationary period is rough, and so is building your numbers. Focus on numbers but stay as safe as possible. There are some "numbers" requesters who reject a lot - I hope someone else can remember who to stay away from and who to recommend. Familiarizing yourself with the platform and resources is the best place to start while you're waiting to get through all the entry crap and getting number quals. Hey folks, I guess I should mention this during daylight hours but I made some late-night changes to TV:

• Staff panel has been fixed (cc: @NBadger ), so reporting reviews is now your best method to having them fixed (review reports will be fixed today, I know the UX is bad there but its not been as needed in the past lol).
  • This goes 10x for Comm rated w/o explained, as I have a special button for it now lol
  • I will check it at least 2-3x/wk for new reports, promise. Or you can ding me in DMs if you think its urgent.
  • If you report dumb shit you will lose the ability to flag reviews. Do not file joke flags on TV.
• Added a quality content metric to user accounts

I think some of the conflict coming up is that TV has actually become useful to folks which is great. Really half the reason I built it is because going to TO and seeing massive amounts of stuff just downvoted everywhere wasn't helpful. So now if a user wants to use TV to negrep some garbage dump survey that's totally fine & encouraged, but it has to be part of a broader profile on the service where they also have been kind enough to share good work.

I already know the argument here is "WELL PEOPLE WONT REPORT CRAPPY HITS!" & that argument is crap lol. If every HIT ya do smells like poo maybe check the bottom of your own workflow.

The current minimum is simply federal minimum wage.. thats minimum for a reason: its still pretty junk. To illustrate the point there are only 5 users across the entire service (500+ eligible reviewers) who don't already meet this minimum (& have 10+ reviews, there are probably a dozen drive-by 1bombers out there) and 3 of them only miss it because their completion time average is so far out of line w/ the normal range they're likely working in weird ways anyway.

TV will, of course, allow users to share decent-good HITs all day long until the average is brought up so this is simply a proactive change to ensure the service is able to "stay true to its roots" more or less.

TL;DR: This change affects basically no one currently using TV, its built to keep TV at the standards users currently expect from it, and that's all.

There is gonna be one more change to TVJS to address Comm issues (I did read your DM @laby & its a good call sorry lol) & coupled w/ this change I'll likely lower the approved HITs requirement to 1k or so since as long as a user is submitting good work idc who they are lol but I'm open to thoughts on that (maybe, dare I say, just qualing newbies w/ a test if they wanna open up reviews before 5k lmao), who knows, just spit-balling & wanted to mostly address the changes I made last night real quick.
