You're competing with a bunch of people who want 2nds, the Ins. Co's bottom line, and a legion of hypochondriacs. Too bad you can't get one of them to give you the ins and outs of how to manipulate your Ins Co.

Out of pocket 2nd doctor rates are not bad if you can get a Dr to do it. Have them look at your files, you have the right to transfer them.

2nd Opinion diagnostics are where the beef is *really* at. Ins Co clamps those pennies down. And tests are expensive.

You really just gotta badger them about it and spend a lot of time on the phone. You are at the bottom 10% of compliant Insureds so you have to make noise and be an ass a little bit.

Today is like a punching dream but at least there's work out there. So many little BS things to do taking away from turking time but I did get on a wireless tether, I've had it with this hotel connection.

Once upon a time, I was too lazy to make multiple trips down the steps so I was carrying 4 trash bags at once. I tripped and fell and asside from the concusion I got from catching myself on a corner with my head, I fucked up my knee. I was really working on losing weight at that point, so I was at the gym like every day. (I was at 75 pounds lost then...) After falling, I couldn't do anything without significant pain in that knee. Also, while at the ER, they discovered I have tumors on my bones near my knee where I've been having problems with pain ALL MY LIFE.

ER refered me to an orthopedic specialist because the tumors could eventually turn cancerous. Talked to the specialist about my fall and pain, he sent me for an MRI. When I went back for the results of the MRI, he said there was some arthritis, but I'm fine. And I need to lose weight in order for my knee to stop hurting and there was nothing he could do. Like dude.... it's keeping me from working out. Also said there was no way the tumors are causing the problems I've had for a long freaking time in that knee. So I cussed him out and made a scene (they almost called security on me... lol).

Went to a different doc a few weeks later. This doc reviewed the MRI and said the first doc didn't request the right MRIs as they don't actually show where the tumors are. Also said that for the new pain, he could try me on Meloxicam and if that didn't work, cortisone shot. He was super understanding that I was trying to work out and stuff and wanted to actually HELP me. The meloxicam ended up working, but I couldn't afford the new MRI since the first cost $600+. So the tumors are still there, but not the docs fault.

Sorry for the book.
