late to reply, but yeah, that. $1 per audio minute is 5/5, .80 is good, .50 is as low as i'll go unless it's something special, like a topic i'm interested in.

about 2-3 years ago, i did a .30/min transcription just because it was an interesting topic on a lazy sunday. that person has kept me on call for his subsequent projects which have been no less than $3/min, and has recommended me to multiple people - the latest of which was fully transcribing and editing a book + an editing job offer, which was "name my own price", and they accepted my very first high-end quote. so... sometimes it does pay to do total crap. i'd say that's the exception rather than the rule, but it has worked miraculously for me.

 

Congrats well deserved though I still think you should've worked for "panda transcriptions" or w/e that place was lmao

No, the machine she uses at work. Plus, that Mac probably still has better battery life than a 6 month old Windows laptop.

i'll have you know i finally upgraded to a 2018 macbook. and i miss doing transcriptions on my old one because i don't have the same hotkey capabilities and

yeah, luckily that's just my office job which is only 3 days a week for a snake oil salesman and will probably finally close it's doors mid-year. and yep, my old laptop is still miles above that work computer, lol.
