I agree there is the possibility for abuse but if everyone took it in jest and more of a badge of honor in some situations. I believe it could be great fun and a way to be a little bit of a pressure relief when we tend to go off in highly unrelated topics.

I would vote for the "that fucking blows" button way before the "facepalm." Too many posts (this being mturk and all) are about some small calamity or piece of shitty luck; to "like" or "love" those posts seems wrong.

Plus, the spelling vote already serves as an expression of mild disapproval or butthurt in the absence of the downvote
