Protip: Sometimes when I get sad I remember ICP coming out as conservative christians to their legion of hatchet wielding goth teens. Then I'm not sad anymore.

 

I also still have a bazillion pending so....hm. Maybe those will save me?

 

Since lots of us are contract workers, we have that "You need to complete this by X many years" situation. It does come with a lot of freedom. My last contract I basically fucked off for 2 1/2 years and worked my ass off the last 6 months. I was still married at the time and my wife was not happy that I all of sudden went from being home all the time (so she could give me projects: "redo this room, I don't like that ceiling texture" "the wall between the yard and pool would be better if it was all wood") to working 6 days a week until the sun went down. Contract got renewed with a nice pay bump though, so fuck it I guess. Paced things much better this time around.

 

I'm the contract worker side of things, too. I went from working like 2 days a week to 5-6, so I suddenly can't take as many days off for Matt's whims. He shrugs it off, but people we know swear I'm just blowing them all off. No, I just have to make a living! I'm glad he has as much flexibility as he does tho, because he's happy and whatever, and he was pretty miserable a couple years ago.
