Point taken. But then sometimes I have thought "eff it", why are the Requesters leaving out that crucial detail and being sloppy? On balance, I don't think I'll take the risk anymore, even though, so far, no rejects because of re-takes.

Yeah, well then its game on. But I'm talking about same survey, same name, not being filtered because of my worker ID and no instruction to not repeat. Anyway, I think I've dodged a bullet(several) so far, so I'm not going to push it.

sorry, i hope i didn't come off as rude, i'm all scatterbrained today and i think i was shorter in tone than i intended. it's honestly just personal preference, and i get a lot of anxiety about doing something wrong, so my feelings on it might be exaggerated.

it might not be a case of them being sloppy, but more that they don't know there are people who sit here doing this all day every day, or even that mturk would let us. but i have definitely seen cases where people emailed asking if it was safe to retake and requesters said yes because their data was screwed up for whatever reason. if you get the "ehhh i'm not sure if i should do this" feeling, probably don't. if you scope it out and it doesn't feel wrong, go for it or if all else fails, never hurts to email and ask.

 

Honestly surprised the reject was for going too fast instead of it being a repeat.
