Okay.

1. It's not being a cover band if they just keep repeating their own old stuff.
2. However, their old stuff is just a tired ripoff of any other hard rock/heavy metal band ever, but they're too lame to admit it. A cover band admits their influences and doesn't try to disguise the rendition.
3. A cover band plays music that people still want to hear.
4. A cover band covers bands that people still want to hear.
5. A singer in a cover band usually can actually sing (or else they won't get any gigs).
