Nothing special here, intel i5-6200, 16 gb ddr4, Nvidia GeForce 940mx, 256 gb ssd, and a samsung evo ssd that is probably forever fried thanks to the ginger ale incident (thanks cats). But I have a fricken sweet widescreen monitor and speakers and a new desk from reclaimed barnwood in progress so I'm a happy camper!

I had planned to buy that monitor when I got this pc but my financial situation has changed substantially so I don't think that'll happen. I may get a 144hz 1080p at some point though.

ooo that's pretty close to my setup. I have a GTX 980 and a 500 GB SSD with 2 1 TB HDD but basically the same for the rest. Did you build it?

 

Oh, no. I bought it from HP and customized some of the options. I'm a firm believer of being able to return something that doesn't work and making someone else fix it.

 

Awww.. It's really fun building computers though. I'm gonna build one on my wall with no case for one of my next projects. It's almost like really really expensive Legos.

 

Building computers is far cheaper then building Legos.

 

Oh, I thought about it. Maybe next time. My old computer crapped out and I was on a $150 laptop, which wasn't really working for my full time turking needs, so I needed a new one that would definitely work ASAP.

 

I'm willing to place my bets on the Dell laptop having better specs though lol

 

I wanna do a desktop build in the next year or two! I bugged the engineer at the airport who did theirs for the flight sims to let me watch him and ask a truly annoying amount of questions.
