Even just the dynamics of the characters itself is something to be appreciated.

Take most animated shows revolved around a family, it's kind of the standard that the dad is just a buffoon idiot. Family Guy, Simpsons, Etc.. It's easy. Slapstick almost. Simple.

But on the contrary, Hank is a dynamic character. A regular guy, overly conservative and reserved is the major trait, but also a great man, a great dad, a family man, and just pretty darn regular.

The show is just well written. The characters aren't just placeholders for the story, but the story and the characters are written with each in mind. And it isn't fully appreciated until you learn the traits behind each character as you get more episodes under your belt.

 

She annoyed me, but the bits about her refusal to grasp that she couldn't actually speak Spanish was always worth a good laugh
