05/07 - Twinge Tuesday!

Nothing wrong with a little raw ground beef from time to time. I've eaten raw ground beef, but it was fresh ground in the kitchen I worked in, so there weren't any issues with contamination. I wouldn't eat raw pre packaged ground beef, unless maaaaybe from a butcher that ground their own and I trusted them.

I was under the impression that once you grind the beef it wasn't safe unless you ground it yourself.

 

I'm not too keen on raw meat. I did read that they eat raw chicken in Japan. It seems the do salmonella vaccines so the chickens don't contract it as easy as they do here. I'll eat sushi but for some reason, raw fish is the only one I'm ok with eating uncooked.

I think ANYTHING can be contaminated with something. You can get aids from a package of fruit snacks probably. Cooking is the safe thing to do. Just saying beef are less likely to have pathogens than chicken or pork. - but certainly not a 0%.

I'm younger than that, and I used to eat raw ground beef as a kid.

Don't like red meat now, but as a kid chewing on some raw ground beef was super tasty. No one had any concerns about it. Also ate raw cookie dough by the bowl.

 

Grind it up in ma kitchen, make ma burger, eat ma burger, no die yet.

 

The idea of eating raw beef sounds gross to me, not because it's raw, but because it'd be unseasoned lol

 

Deep fry everything for your health and safety.

 

I mean you could season raw beef.
