Everyone knows 98% of what children say isn't worth listening to when they're under the age of 10. You just let them babble and nod at the appropriate time and they don't actually care because they're so glad an adult is giving them the time of day and seems to care about their little kid problems.

I love the younger members of my family but this is 100% true.

 

Skinned knees are forgotten as soon as it stops hurting. Dangle some shiny lights or turn the TV on for them, they stop caring.

 

They especially appreciate it and you become their favoritest cousin because most adults think "children should be seen, not heard" and "don't got time for your shit." It don't take much to be nice to a kid.

 

You would also be surprised by what they can walk off if you don't draw attention to it.

 

Then again some of them will hype something up like being bitten by a puppy (who was like 8 weeks at the time and didn't know better) or a skinned knee for actual days and show it off to everyone.

 

My best assassins are children as nobody expects it.

Who walks around kids w/o a healthy dose of skeptical eye glare? They're perfect family jewel assassin height & half of them have been raised by wolves at best nowadays
