I heard a person say once that not wanting to go to the doctor's was the mindset of most of his now deceased family members (due to medical conditions) and that made me start going more

 

Yep...in emergencies, obviously, you gotta go, but outside of that - I pretty much avoid the doctor. Ain't nobody got money for that.

 

The worst is that it's free for me! I'm just too lazy and don't want to end up waiting an entire day for probably nothing.

 

I like to think it'd be different if healthcare was free here, but knowing me, it probably wouldn't

 

I have nothing against modern medicine or anything like that. I just despise going. Most of the time they don't listen, and with my luck the last two times I've gone, they've forgotten to call in much needed medications so I had to go back AGAIN. I have a friend I usually go to that owns several urgent care clinics, but he's been at one of their clinics about an hour away for the last few weeks.

 

It'd be a bureaucratic nightmare, kinda like now, but you pay less for it. Also, when we were kids our mom taught us that all doctors are just quacks out to get as much money out of you as possible.

 

I also still have over 16k in medical bills from that shit

I live out in BFE, so gun shots aren't uncommon...

 

During the day, sure, but it's almost 10 pm and pitch black - no way they can see clearly enough to safely shoot

I mean. It's never really safe to discharge a firearm. It's a bit of metal that is meant to keep a small explosion focused so it launches a bit of metal at lethal speeds from an opening that is so tight, that it forces the bit of metal to follow the grooves in the tube.
