I do mine not all the way on high (i have a gas stove, though) when I'm seasoning the cast iron. And I do it multiple times. With the doors and windows open.

 

I live in the south I only do that in the winter.

I actually cut off the part of my post where I told you to "shut the fuck up" because you're just copy pasting whatever conforms to your opinion and can't be bothered to take more than two seconds to search "do coyotes attack adults" and find out that it's very rare.

 

I think you only do that when you are building the coating to protect the cast iron.

I bake at 400 to season.

The lowest I've ever seen for seasoning is 350, fwiw.

 

wrong. You do this to get an even finish.

 

for my initial seasoning when I buy a used one from thrift store or whatever, I put oil on it and bake it,

but after using it and I need to rinse it off with water, I put it on the stove on high to evaporate all the water droplets, and then a teaspoon or so of oil, and spread it across the whole cooking surface while the stove is on high for a few mins.

However I never really rinse off the totality of the oiliness, due to mine being pretty well-seasoned over the years.
