True, but what "presents" do they bring back? My bestie has her cats bring deadish pigeons in. NO thanks. Indoor cat. Plus the stupid coyotes eat them. So she is safe inside.

 

People can be assholes to cats here, too (not sure if they eat them, they just poison them, so probably not eating them...)

But I live in an area where we all have cats, most go outside, so we are super happy with that.

Eh, I'm fine that they control rodents in my yard. They trapped a rat not long ago. Was awesome. Cats had it trapped, dog ran outside and like a FUCKING BOSS pushed both cats out of the way, grabbed rat in mouth and shook it around like a rag doll.

it was the DOG who then decided to try and run with it back into my house. I was wearing heels and have never ran so fast in my life to beat the dog back to the open back door.

 

When I had my cat, he hated those. I had gotten 4 of them, and some time during the night he put them in the basement, which was the only place he hated. And there they staid till I got rid of them lol

 

I mean, tbf, cats are a pest animal, so I can't really blame people who super dislike them, but also trapping and animal shelters exist for a reason.

 

Ourdoor cats are cancer. I've openly admitted to catching & dropping them at the shelter, where they belong, not eating my birds and attacking my dog like the rabit ashholes they are.

Also in fairness my dog is an absolute dumbass and doesn't realize the cat is going to smack it right on the nose every time.

Do male cats not mark territory when fixed? All the shelter cats are already spayed/neutered but I was looking for girl cats to avoid the whole pee on furniture thing

 

Reminder that cats can shit out litters roughly every 9 weeks.

 

1 . Scratching post (if you want to "try" to protect your furniture)
2. Toys (again to protect your belongings, although....that's a fool's errand) they like rattly toys, plastic papery sounding toys, things that roll, things that slide. Try a cucumber for laughs.
3. Cat shampoo, flea control methods -collar, or other, I prefer the pill if you can get the cat to eat it), comb or brush
4. a good vacuum cleaner for all the cat hair
5. one of those sticky roller thingies to get cat hair off your clothes
6. Trash can with a lid cat's can't get through and probably
7. Some cats love catnip, not all. you can grow some for fun if you have a lawn (it's super easy to grow)
There's more, oh, sooooo much more, but...some things you gotta just experience, ya know?

spay/neuter, shots, etc...

Don't change food often, cat tummies are sensitive to that

 

I've never owned one cat that hated those. One of my cat prefers a different kind, but she'll still destroy one of these in one night.
