If you don't get the old IBM mechanical keyboard, get something with Cherry MX blue or brown switches. I'm sure the gamer in your life will appreciate it.. lol

 

this is one of the ones I was looking at I just have no idea what constitutes a good gaming keyboard

it wouldn't surprise you to know that i do better at the newer nhl games when i enable 94 controls

 

I have one of those nice old IBM mechanicals, which I use alongside of my old Microsoft trackball. Good stuff!

 

I'm not sure that I do either. I can say it works well. My only real complaint is the keys are a little too close together as compared to my last keyboard. This might be a good thing from a gaming perspective, but I make a few more errors typing than I used to.

 

What does what do? The switches? They are just very pleasant to type on. If you get a chance try on in real life. Feels great to type on, more like a typewriter. And they last a lifetime.

 

It is loud.

I like browns, but red dragon has been the goto for budget mechanical
