Ironically I get into arguments all the time out here in the Northeast about fierce mascots. I think Sparty usually represents.
Honestly 20 years ago I thought I had moved to a state with a sorta-fierce mascot (Black Bears) until I went to a hockey game, found out his name is (for real) Bananas The Bear and is the least ferocious bear that ever existed.

Nobody even listened to them even in the 80's-90's.

 

but the "whoop whoop" thing is their trademark mating call or whatever, and I thought they were like a Michigan thing, because they really like Faygo which is from Michigan or whatever. I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I've met some, and they're actually nice folk.

 

I'm from Michigan and grew up in the 80s and all anyone ever talked about was wanting to jump them lol! Also I've never said "whoop whoop" but maybe it's just a guy thing.

 

I do enjoy Faygo
