Oh. Thank God. I'm not. My mom was not prescribed that when pregnant with me.

She was just prescribed diet pills, like Fen-Phen, to increase her energy levels because she was tired.

And she smoke.

And drank.

Probably did some Valium, too.

So I'm totally good.

OMG. We just bought some mandarin oranges and they looked and smelled great. We peel them open and BAM tastes like cleaning chemicals. WTF. I JUST WANTED GOOD MANDARIN ORANGES. Guess we'll give them a couple days and hope they taste better soon?

I think I would be at less risk of all the things if that's the ONLY thing my mom did while PG with me. She was pretty straight laced, but doctors were just giving pregnant women all sorts of stuff back then, lol! And smoking was a-ok when pg in the 60s!

Hate to tell you this but...

Citrus doesn't continue to ripen after picked from the trees. Can you take them back to where you bought them?

Otherwise, I'd say make some smoothies with them using some sweeter fruits like berries and some yogurt so they don't go to waste (that's what I do with sour citrus, and right now I have bagfulls of citrus all over my house due to California and it being citrus season).

 

As you probably know by now, DES was an absolute horror show that had consequences for both 'sons' and 'daughters', and as much as I dislike saying it, an increased risk for cancer almost pales in comparison to some of the other stuff.

 

Never heard of this. Heard of Thalidomide, which was a true horror show, but not DES.

 

I'm just sad now because I wanted these as mid day lunch snakes. Is there a flavor of them I should be worried with? They kinda taste like a cleaning bath almost. I have bananas to toss into a smoothie so I guess they will become orange banana smoothies now.
