NO! I will keep dumping my own money into my mildly successful digital media collective and abusing my credit until the day I die !!!!

In all reality if I became a good front-end developer and could easily get a job without too much bureaucratic crap involved I'd probably do that part time as well.

Yeah, I've already got a good grasp of that stuff and have even gone a little beyond in my own right. The rut I'm in is figuring out how to take it a step further--I think maybe I'm just going to learn front-end development as a whole and transfer whatever skills I can over to my work on MTurk. Who knows, maybe I've peaked. Maybe I was never meant to write Hit Forker 2

 

This is exactly why I think courses/etc are a complete waste of time if you're "learning" JS for MTurk. None of them will teach you this, so all of their information is useless (or for the semantics folks, not as efficient as hackathon learning, IMO).

This is all just my opinion, but for me the only reason to do "courses" / videos / etc is to get out of MTurk and into a "real" job or at least professional freelancing. Knowing the difference between var/let/const (and god forbid running node/react/etc) isn't useful when you're writing a script for a HIT that'll be thrown away 5 minutes after the batch dies so any time you spend on stuff like that is wasted because you're not gonna be paid for it (whereas on MTurk to hack up a quick jquery script and learn a bit through google/stackoverflow/code cannibalism you'd at least get something for your time and it's practical/applicable to your purpose).

Anyway, nothing wrong with learning to learn. Or because it's something you enjoy & wanna do. Or even for MTurk if you really want. Just my opinion.
