I won't answer the cult question... we're just a nice community that want to support our fellow workers, guide requesters, and might enjoy a nice refreshing powdered fruit-flavored beverage from time to time, nbd

Anyone who likes lemons and ice cream and lives in Texas needs to buy this from HEB. It's so good. I think it's the best ice cream flavor I've ever tasted.

Oh that would probably be tasty too. Sams Club had really good key lime pies a few months back but they stopped making them.

Did anyone else do the MPI hit yet? The video I have is 15 seconds long and the character walks the entire time. There is no transition to another action.

Totally understandable, and certainly a good reason to learn. Idk what your business is so don't really have any great advice here haha but if it's in a realm where webdev is helpful then learning proper methods is always great if you can. I tend to focus my learning time on security not "clean code" or the latest frameworks because I don't really care what my code looks like as long as I'm not leaking people's information. It's a cost/benefit to all of that, and yea, identifying what's important is about all you can do there w/r/t learning.

Sorry I'm actually devoid of wisdom here. My code is universally bad because it's just the tool I use to do whatever pops into the brainspace.
Mmm.. this is backwards for me. Don't take offense to this 'cause I'm sporadically typing while trying to reply to 3 emails and get some site changes pushed lol, just walk with me through it. The language doesn't dictate what you can/can't do. You do. The language is literally nothing but a janky tool you're gonna borrow to get the job done.

You come up with the idea, and find the language that makes it easiest to execute in the manner you want to do it in that will reasonably scale/support what your end existence looks like.

The bigger umbrella here, especially if you're referencing "my" work (which largely isn't mine) is that anything at that scale is absurdly removed from the coding and even the idea itself. Most code problems on MTurk are solved at this point. I didn't learn to code so that I could figure out what to do, I knew what I wanted to do and learned the code that was required to do it (and frankly, not much more lol)

Years ago MTurk, well the worker community, had a horrific problem with effort duplication. One dude would show up, write a script, share it, disappear, script/resource (*glares at [dynamo, daemo, scraper, turkmaster, etc]*) would be abandoned then break/die/have exploits, next person up would write a new one completely from scratch (huge waste of time, hence duplication), etc etc. That's largely stopped happening. MTS is the intro tool, Forker/PC are the intermediate level, QBC/TKN are the "professionalized" apps.

So you're looking at it and are like, alright, well [X] script would be sick if it had [Y] feature. Okay, probably agree, but how would you get it in there? Can learn to code, try to get it built on top of / to the side of / whatever and then [X] changes, it breaks, you're on the hook for supporting it (or I/someone else is for breaking it). Or you rebuild your own from ground up and then we go back to square one from the above. From a worker perspective it's better to just yell at me and say "add this pls" (which is why I encourage that and don't get upset when people poopy on any of the tools I'm even tangentially responsible for supporting lol, most of the decent features in anything I've touched comes from people telling me I'm an idiot [hence why "my" work isn't really mine :emoji_joy:)

Way more importantly for our space is that then to top on that the actual boogyman, real, big, scary problems in this ecosystem are much harder to impact with code nowadays. They're largely ones that require human brains to go and communicate / do things on a person level which is really difficult to find in our space because time == money, most folks are low on both, and it also requires skills that are also difficult to find in online workspaces where hermits like myself tend to congregate AND an incredibly telescoped view/understanding that opting into that route is self-harming.

Not saying there aren't cool tools/features/etc that can/should exist, but you're starting to look at the cliff scenario where by the time you catch up and then create them you'll look outside the train to realize the entire thing is 2 seconds from flying off a cliff in a lot of different ways.

FWIW 90% of what I do nowadays, unfortunately, is not coding. Learning coding can't really - well again IMO - help you build anything like what worker infrastructure looks like. And that's across any space/industry. Like even if what you're talking about isn't MTurk related it's the same deal.

So.. you don't start with the language. Or even the beginning. You start at the end, and work backwards from biggest milestones to smallest and start there.

If any of that makes sense your first starting point is probably a therapy appointment :emoji_joy::emoji_joy::emoji_joy:
