I really never thought I would meet someone who agreed with me. I was lucky in that I lived in the shelter, but the insight I got while I was there was incredible. And yeah, these are really unique people because they'ved lived a life far outside the norm. For instance I knew of several people who would move from shelter to shelter, never staying in one place for long. They seemed happy, well dressed, etc but they never seemed like they wanted to stay tied to the same place for long.

There is something in the homeless population where people are more raw and more honest with their emotions, and those connections you make stick with you. Maybe it has something to do with living a more primitive existence, or that you feel like you belong to a collective group or something. idk.

I wouldn't want to go back, because I'm trying to do the right thing for my kid. But I am always looking at places and being like "well, if I was homeless I bet I could sleep here" that most people just ignore or don't even notice. lol

 

I think we have diffrent definitions of ground floor

 

Oh yeah, that makes sense. I try to give my daughter great meals. But I'll eat spaghetti-os out of a can, with a spoon.

Yeah, a kid'll do the trick. I've got a lot of bigger long term goals now that keep me away; they would definitely get tossed up in the air if I wanted to go be a vagrant again, but at the same time I find myself yearning to find healthier ways to be a vagrant, lol. Staying on top of your finances, off the bad drugs, but still going on wild adventures can be a nice substitute.

"Wild" is subjective, because I feel like the older I get the more I become risk averse. I just broke my ankle skateboarding recently and even that put me out of commission long enough for me to start considering my mortality more seriously.
