I got started a bit early. Picked up some doc martens in black and brown and two pairs of vans for about $120. Shoes.com has a 30% discount for miltary/students/nurses/dr/first responders/etc. It works on sales items too.

I just couldn't see spending $200 on boots right now. I know docs aren't the best, but I'm upgrading from a faux leather pair I got at AE for like $20. They can't be worse than that lol. To be fair, they did last for like 5 years of near constant use.
