    The problem down here is a lot of us that own chickens/other animals aren't set up for super cold temps since...we're usually worried about our animals overheating because we live in hell.

    Our run isn't blocked off...they have a huge open run with a small coop to roost in at night (there is a roof over that section of the run though because I always want them to be dry even during warm rains). The only thing I could think to do was tarp the sides and make a warm box out of it the roofed-in area.

    Generally, they will just pop outside for a bit and scratch and then go back and sit in the warm so hopefully, they will be fine. IF it gets really awfulI might just have to close them up in the roosting coop. Tomorrow is supposed to be the worst for us so I will probably end up doing that.

    Yeah we don't have a good place for them to stay out of the rain. Our 'coop' is an old shed converted so it's all plywood but we've added a shit load of fresh bedding and it stays warm af. My birds are...extra? stupid? Last time it was freezing rain they all just stood out in it looking miserable and we had to watch extra hard for frostbite. Not making that mistake again lol

    I can see mine from my office window so If I notice them staying out too much I'm just going to go put them up. I just hate doing so since the roosting coop is just for sleeping obviously. IF the absolute worst happens I have an old dog kennel that's freaking huge...I can stick them in it and bring them inside in the heat.
