That is my problem, the Grinchy nurse. As a kid my mom would leave me and go talk to the DR when it was time for shots or blood drawn and the nurse would leave bruises all over my arm from holding me, even if i was sitting still.
It was never the pain of the shot that never bothered me, its the nurses...and for some reason knowing it is a sharp piece of metal that will pierce my skin.

All this needle talk... I can totally relate. I hate needles, but I've had to get yearly blood tests since I was a baby since I was born without a thyroid and they had to monitor my medication, so I've had to adjust. I've never enjoyed getting blood tests (still hate them). Thankfully, I've never really had issues with them finding a vein, but when I got an endoscopy last year, they couldn't find the vein in my hand for some reason (the nurse was TERRIBLE and just kept jamming the needle into my hand... same nurse rammed the Covid swab up my nose until it bled and was just downright awful... speaking of kicking people, I wanted to kick her in the face, lol). It all definitely depends on the skill of the nurse.

I've had to undergo tons of needle pricks with cancer treatment, yet they still bother me to some extent. It sucks. : ( But the Covid shot was definitely no big deal (for me, at least). My nurse was very nice and distracted me, lol. It took like 5 seconds tops.

My brother is deathly afraid of needles and refuses to get the Covid shot. : ( I hope he changes his mind. He works with a ton of people, so I worry about him a lot.
