To expand further, you are complaining about intended functionality. It tries to grab a hit on it's cycle. If mturk does not respond and report that you have it, it errors on the side of trying again instead of giving up. It's better to grab more than 1 than get zero. You get MORE hits this way. The code can't help if mturk doesn't report before the next cycle that YES you already have it. You can't have it both ways. Catch more and do some manual weeding, or catch less.

Dear @turker , I have a question, and you seem like you would know the answer. Last fall I saw a packet of pumpkin spice peeps, and it made me wonder... what flavor are normal peeps? Are they all the same flavor, or do the different colors have different tastes? Is there a peep flavor they all share? Is it fruity, vanilla, undefined like tootsie rolls?
