I did it and got approved normally - I'm not sure what criteria they're using for the HIT, but I accidentally let mine cook for like 20 minutes total.

 

Hey, that 10 minute c-sat would only run you about 2 terabytes @ 8k... I think.

or maybe 22.5 gigs...that sounds more correct....

I'm gonna let mine cook for a bit and cross my fingers. Got a reject earlier today and don't want another one this week.

 

Only if they actually push it at the proper bitrate for 8k. (lets ignore that the video wouldn't suddenly be 8k)

For example Netflix's 4k streaming is barely comparable to 1080p BDs in quality so if they bitrate starved it wouldn't use much bandwidth.

 

Too bad they use potato peelers to film 'em.

Yeah, my original quick search was talking about full blown craziness...looks another search said h.264 would be about 22.5 gb for 10 minutes...but I don't really know much about video stuff.

 

I remember reading (MTG, reddit, MTC?) about someone who had a form letter they sent to every single masters requester about how shit the qual was blah blah blah. Had examples of people getting it at like 2k hits and w/ suspended accounts.

Little fanatical for my tastes.. but if you're looking for a cause to fight, I say take up his mantle and get me qualled for some more HITs. Lol.

 

A good 1080p BD movie encode is ~20-40GB and a good 4k one should be around 4x that so 80-160GB and a 8k would be 4x that at 320-640GB

Most of the shit that you see aren't good encodes though including the stuff that Netflix streams at.

That reminds me.. I need to buy a cheap BD player at some point to play the BD that I am getting from a kickstarter.. lol. I mean I'll just be remuxing it to my server but I need a BD player to be able to do that.

There's been these "Suggested_Reply" HITs that have been posted lately on UHRS - they're really good. The ones up now are like 30 an hour, but some of them are way better even.
