    I was thinking about upgrading to Ryzen from my 8320, but if I do that I have to buy a new motherboard, ram, and gpu. There's no new games that look appealing to me so I can't bring myself to do it.

    That isn't upgrading, that is building a new PC.

    I'll build a new PC at some point when I have the money but right now I'm find with my i5 2500k / RX480 / 24GB of ram

    If you're happy with what you have and it doesn't struggle then there really is no reason to upgrade pr build a new PC.

    Until last September I was using an i7 2700k and it was great. The reason I bought a new pc was because it was cursed and wouldn't accept another GPU. Don't ask, it really is cursed and I got tired of fighting with it for over a year trying to figure out what part was at fault. Now I won't need to upgrade anything for a long time....except that I always want the new shiny thing :)
