    They sent home a notice telling parents not to bother helping their kids with the math homework- just make sure they do it, and if they can't figure it, to send the incomplete homework back to school so the teacher can help them. My mom used to tell me "Oh god, they're already teaching you that in school?? You better start paying attention in class, because there will come a time where I won't be able to help you." I find I'm saying that to my then third and fourth grader.

    It isn't hard math unless you have been out of it for awhile. It just is dumb. Normally on common core stuff if you ignore the instructions and just solve how a normal person would they are easy.

    My newphew graduated last year. They didn't even give out books during his four years of high school. Just had a classroom set....

    The problem is if you don't show the common core steps they get counted wrong even if it's the correct answer.

    My husband and I kinda sorta taught our son how to do the math in his head. Which is not the way. So he gets marked wrong on tests because he won't write out the work in the common core way.

    They're teaching them from the beginning how to do only common core. That's why we aren't supposed to help- we'd only muck up their hard work.

    Use to, they pulled my qual two days before Christmas last year, without any reason as too why. Pretty fucked up seeing how they just promoted most advanced users who had 90% accuracy rating to super user. 80,000 complete hits and I would always send them an email whenever they had issues with batches not working and suggestions. There are a couple of others who lost the qual around the same time with out any replies.

    One of my cousin's kids flunked a test because he gave all the right answers but they were supposed to just estimate and round to the nearest tens becuase that's how math works...
