As far as I can tell that 1099 thing is yet another addition to Stanley's bullshit list.

Anyone can signup for a play money requester account on https://requestersandbox.mturk.com

Go look for yourselves, go try to make HITs etc etc. There is no where in the interface to just flippantly request that kind of info on a worker.

I actually don't know 100% for sure if its impossible. Maybe somewhere somehow it is, but if it is its incredibly hidden and I'm skeptical that none of the other prolific requesters who operate on the forums have ever stepped forward to verify Stanley's claim.

Also, if you checkout that screenshot take note of the fact that I rejected myself.. and am unable to overturn it. It actually is possible to make a rejection permanent (barring begging mTurk customer service to fix it for you) on accident.. and its kind of the default way you're told to clear HITs in Amazon's documentation. Just something to consider next time you're angry at a requester lol.

Also blocked myself, but thankfully that's easy to fix LOL.

For me, it's more of a quick Turing test. Almost every time, if someone responds back with a saluation, or goes right into it ["I only know one morning person"] you can start working at it. If you don't get a response, it's a sign you should't put a lot of effort into typing out long college names just yet.

 

I already assume you know everything about my bird nest cause ChrisTurk sees and knows all. That's what the camera in my back yard is for right? That's what I get for not reading that user agreement!
