    The biggest problem was that AMD's always ran significantly hotter than other chips. Overheating was a big problem and then if you tried to do even the smallest overclocking you can forget it that chip was like zoom i'm so fast i'm gonna outpace your software and blue screen every 12 seconds.

    @MikeTheChef

    It looks like both chips are within 10% or less of performance of each other so the other parts besides the CPU will matter more than the CPU itself.

    I've thought about doing something like that but I just hate paying to get my hair done. I stopped coloring it myself 6 or 7 years ago because I'm lazy and hate the smell of it.

    My bf is completely gray and actually wants me to get some gray so people stop thinking I'm his daughter lol.

    Did I say that? No, I've never used stock heat sinks but identical cooling setups using both types of chips the intel outperformed every time. With liquid cooling in every box now that gap has probably disappeared but over the history of modern home computing Intel just has a more solid record. People only ever wanted AMD because they were cheaper back in the day.

    Oh as an added benefit @MikeTheChef if you go intel and get a compatible motherboard it's a lot easier to make a dual booting hackintosh with Intel.
