hi guise so I don't know how to get an attorney for my bus accident lost ability to work and pain and suffering. so I got mad and I'm doing it myself or at least trying to. because there's an insurance company for the city's busses and they've been denying my claim even though there were at least six cameras all working great and vehicle and gps black box type data etc. all showing the acciden.t

so here's why I'm posting about this today. I barely started to use AI on google to help me figure out what papers I even need and what court might be right to file in etc. the AI immediately started making stuff up. like it said that I can see examples of what to write for one paper that is important, then adjust it to my circumstances and turn it in. WRONG those examples don't exist. also I spent a whole night looking for an appendix to a paper where the paper exists and the referenced section exists, but the appendix doesn't. AI said to find the appendix and told me right where to look in the bigger paper. but it doesn't exist.

I had to talk to legal assistance person at the big county courthouse to figure out what in the world. he said people are getting in trouble with legal things because AI makes up cases that have never happened, makes up laws and facts and other stuff. with no basis in reality and seemingly no reason to make these things up.

so be careful with AI, because it's true that it really does make things up.

 

I would find a lawyer from the phone book. There's got to be a few credible attorneys who would take your case and only charge if you win. I see ads all the time.

What state are you in again? If it's CO, I have a friend there that's a lawyer...

 

For sure have to be careful with using AI! Your best bet would be to use two of them at the same time. As in if you are using ChatGPT to get your initial information, paste that response into a Claude interaction and ask it to crosscheck the information based on what it knows of your state's laws/the process you need to follow.

You can also Google "city + accident type + law firms" and then filter through the results using Google reviews to see how their service is. Most big firms will have some type of chatbot that you can use and then paste in the details of your situation. Might be faster than having to call in and explain your situation X amount of times until you find a firm willing to take a look at your case. Use those free consultations for sure!
