02/16 - Spotty Sunday!

I was turking, but I'm not getting much. MTurk is slow and Qmee is always slow on Sunday. I wish I could make 228 bucks in a day. I am lucky to get 15 or 20. However I make just enough to get the things I need day to day.

 

what's wrong?

 

It's gonna be a real 20 cent day today.

 

okay I had time to clean my glasses for the first time in like 6 weeks. so now I will turk way better and way faster.

 

does anyone know how to get the "shift+enter" shortcut to work consistently to submit hits? on the masters amazon batch, but I've seen that on other batches too. only works sometimes, not often.

I'm actually watching this show right now. it's a little weird with all the concubine stuff, but there's no actual hentai or anything, it's more like a type of sherlock holmes meets medicine type of show and quite interesting. (apothogary diaries if anyone wants to know)

 

question about prolific - the "Specialized Participant" qualification I have, I'm assuming it's something similar to mturk masters?

I'm not sure if anyone knows.

I've had a nice batch up for the last few days, posting like 400 at a time and multiple submissions accepted per task.

yeah. it's mostly AI stuff. usually pays between $15-$45/hr depending on the requestor. I've had it for about a year.

 

Do the batches have complicated instructions?

 

It depends. I've been working for some of the requestors for the last 2-5 years so not really. Big name companies that have their shit together. There are some that I don't do though because I find it's not worth my time. Either the pay is too low or bonus dependent.

 

The AI stuff can certainly be a waste of time, which is unfortunate, because there is a lot of it out there nowadays.

 

The AI ones are the highest paying and the most consistent. From the jobs I've been offered and the videos Prolific has been posting to YouTube it certainly seems that they are moving more towards AI research rather than academic research these days. I mainly work for only two requestors and it's enough to sustain me these days.

 

do they give out the qual to people who request it? or do we have to wait to be invited?

 

you have to wait. I think I may have done a hit once that gave me one of those basic IQ tests or something but like I've already said, some of the requestors are people that I've been working for for years and it seems they aren't just throwing the hits to the general population like they used to.

 

my advice is just to do anything that looks like it might be a qual.
