Has anyone done that survey that is cycling between three different platforms where you have to provide a Gmail address, then they do a screener, and the final payout is something between 3 and 40 dollars? What I'm asking is, is all that just a warmup to making you download an extension? Not giving out my gmail, just very curious.

 

Prolific keeps showing crazy completion times that make me get indignant and confused until I mouse over and remember that there's this weird bug happening.

do you guys know if vacation rental will stop posting on mturk? I don't have access to their slack, tried emailing them and they haven't responded. I noticed that they're not adding new hits ( since monday). So they have moved on to another platform or what? thanks for those who know

 

That's one of the ones I saw. I see that it's from multiple universities, so that must be why I have seen something similar but worded differently on (I think) Mturk and definitely Connect.

We are inviting you to participate in an Internet research study by researchers at Northwestern and Stanford. You will be able to earn money while contributing to science and hopefully having fun!


We are running an experiment to better understand how people spend their time online. Participants will earn $0.25 for completing the initial survey on Connect. If you use Google Chrome and provide your email address, you will be invited to complete an additional survey where you will receive $3 for successfully completion. It should be take between 10-15 minutes. Participants who complete the survey will be eligible for the next phase of our study, where there is an additional possible payment as large as $40 if they are selected for this phase. Note that only individuals who use Google Chrome on their desktop/laptop can participate in the study. The next phases of the study are recommended to be completed on a desktop/laptop, not a tablet/phone.
