Why am I not able to accept some hits?



This hit shows that I've not done it, (the R and T are not green), I meet the qualifications, but I can't take it. This happens too many times, and I'd like to know why.

 

What happens when you try to accept it?

It hasn't updated on the search page.

 

i know that when some batches run out, mturk hasnt refreshed how many are left. It says there are some, but it won't let you take any

Sometimes MTurk doesn't refresh fast enough. Have you ever accepted it in the past and then returned it? Sometimes that's a reason.

 

Maybe you accepted it and returned it before?

 

Or they only allow you to do one and either you've done it already or you accepted it and returned it before.

I see. The next question is, then how does everybody get any hits? Every time I try to catch a hit, it's gone. I can sit there with my mouse hovered over "accept" on the hit finder from mts, set at 2 or 3 seconds, and still not get the hit. It's like I'm out fishing but without the beer.

 

Either you have to be fast or you have to be lucky. I try to stay on top of them, but people can see them a split second before you or you could react a split second too late. It depends a lot on you and your search settings, and generally how much the universe favors you today.
