I didn't know quotes of HITs showed up on work mode til this made me check.

The problem with having a standard is there would be no standard outside of here. There's no standard on TO for what a good pay is, and you can find your standard on TO2, but no one uses it. You don't know if requesters have overestimated their time or not, and you can easily miss a high paying HIT if you just take everything at face value. Even the green TOs look like rejects waiting to happen, so I don't really trust that either. Because of all of this, I tend to give a little leeway with my posts, because I know others have different standards. When I first started, my philosophy was even if I worked all day, as long as I made $30, I could make my weekly $150 goal. I've evolved since then, and there are HITs I wouldn't do that others would, and vice-versa, so I try to post what I see with all of that in mind.

Nothing wrong with voicing your opinion. I hope you're not taking it like I'm coming at you or anything. I wish there was a more accurate way to tell that stuff and weed through as well, but it just doesn't seem that way to me.

Also, I just saw a HITs TO on HF jump from 3.33 to 3.57. Wut da hell?

Huge props for this btw. I've seen a lot of people undergo this "evolution" even dating back to MTG (looking at you, @jdzane - I know most days you make bank on mTurk nowadays haha) and its always nice to see. There's good $ to be made on mTurk for those who work & learn a lot.. we can't all start with $800/hr closed quals. Sadly.. Someone gimme a new qual for free $$$ dammit masters was not enough to satiate the hungerrrr.

The main thing that we got from masters was not having to do do captchas so that is a soft pay raise across the board.

 

Not much has changed yet. I'm still in the phase of learning. I just started thinking of the long term and saw that mentality and situation wouldn't work for me and my needs. Now I want to learn JS, so I can do all the stuff I need to do to accomplish that long term situation. I'm with RA though. I've lost so much money from captchas that it's worth it just for that alone.
