    But, you just made me think about what went wrong. The problem here was there was no focus during that season. The characters used to be in groups, and now a lot of them are split up, which leaves less time for each characher, plus the addition of new and old characters. Then, a lot of the flashbacks were a waste of time. The ones about Chapman and Red revealed nothing new about their characters, whatsoever. We never got to see what happened to Sophia, and the only person with an interesting flashback, in my opinion, was Janae, but we only got a glimpse of it. The whole season lacked focus, which ironically fits with the theme.

    Meh, I don't think the flashbacks were a waste of time, but the season was not cohesive. The whole scenario was kind of comical to me on some level. Just not realistic. It wasn't even really engaging. The writers lost me when they did the scenario with the guards being abused. That was too much for me to identify with.
