I've gone through 7 Wills looking for that old sleeping/snoring/dying guy, but no luck.

Mihail Eric HITs are up if you have the qual. Frankly I'm surprised I do, as he made me re-do inaccurate work for him a few weeks ago. Just testing his plebs, I guess...

 

My clinicals consisted of dealing with a gun shot to the neck, having to let an elderly patient know I needed to run a 12-lead on her (who decided that meant she needed to remove her shirt... shall I say unsupported and leave it at that?), saw dependent lividity (supposed to be a clinical sign of death) on a living patient and dealt with another living patient with a 3 point something BAC. Apparently that's possible when you spend the last 20 years of your life consistently intoxicated without ever sobering up. Who knew?

You could say it was an interesting experience for sure.

 

Part of that sounds oddly familiar.... where did you do your clinicals?

Similar story to the BAC one in DC-area in 2009... strangely that SOB is still alive and drinking (childhood friend, not me lol)

If its anything like mine, they're looking 30 years over their actual age.

 

They're 33, look somewhere in their 50s... so close enough. And they work a government job to boot in infrastructure... no idea how they haven't gotten fired because you get over the legal limit to drive just by being around them

 

yeah, outside of my EMT/SAR experiences I was hanging around with psych being their ER Grinch so I mostly dealt with batcrap insane druggies trying to punch me/the nurses and cursing everyone out or trauma victims and the occasional person who insisted I was a leprechaun or something similar annnnd then tried to punch me or cursed me out. Saw some pretty gnarly shit though, worked in a few nice hospitals with downtown ER's in big cities so a lot of excitement! The joy of clinicals!

 

He posted awhile back. He's focusing on his thesis and isn't turking anymore. He introduced us to his girlfriend who is @Girl Polar Bear

Is robin one of those "only these states" requesters? And what is the timer on their hits? Got like 18 different group ids I have collected running with nothing for 2 days.

 

Don't forget the drug seekers! You know... the ones that will be quiet until you come check on them and suddenly its 20/10 pain and they need every drug in existence?

Ever heard of Civil Air Patrol? Its a USAF-auxilliary comprised of civilians and basically learn about aerospace and can get tasked with SARs. I believe every branch has something similiar but the Air Force one isn't too bad. I was involved for a few years and partook in a few air and ground SARs. You can also get flight time through them. I believe its something like they can only charge for fuel use if you use their C150/172 and go with their pilots. Not a bad gig if you want to get back into SAR

 

I love how dust settles and disperses every so often.

 

Conversations like this is why I love this place and have pretty much abandoned reddit for it

 

Lots of experience with Civil Air Patrol! A few of my friends fly with them. I'm out of SAR commission these days cause of my health having so many ups and downs and my canine partner passed away last year but we used to make a kickass team. He was the real champ though, I mostly just translated his dog language to human and ran around with my kit.

Drug seekers are the best, I was (legally of course) on a fent patch during part of my clinicals cause I was flairing up so badly and a patient tried to flat out rip it off my arm thinking I wouldn't notice? Yeah, he was sky high! Some days I miss the insanity.
