Anyone else getting errors on these YTA hits?

 

Is there any way to see what IDs to panda for a HIT or just hope somebody posts it and you notice it? Because I never see them on HF, only in the thread and I don't think I've ever seen a link for 1.12.

Are you getting the "the rest of the work has been reserved" message? Because these tend to have a very low cap lately.

I briefly forgot that time zones exist as Matt sent me a picture and told me he was getting on his last leg of the flights today. I was immediately confused because he told me he was going to get there at 3:30 and I'm thinking, wow, it's 5:30...your flights are really running behind! Oh yeah, he's not on the east coast anymore. DUH! He sent me this purty picture because I def did not poison him on his birthday, cereally guys.

I'm glad you asked, friend. Have a seat (or hit page-down to skip over) for this long-winded discussion about gifs.

I have a personal vendetta against that ice cream commercial & its offspring - mostly because of repetitive & needless overuse. But the creepy bunny isn't exactly a personal favorite either.

They're creepy / gross for the sake of being creepy / gross. I hate all the gifs that are meant to do nothing but "shock" folks into a negative reaction because it lowers the overall aesthetic of the forum. The PB gifs the other day almost ate it as well. Some gifs (..maybe most depending on your POV) don't provide any inherent value to the place, but those "shock" gifs devalue the thread IMO because there are so few people having a positive reaction to them.

I tend to look at it this way: if you ran up to a stranger on the street and showed them X gif posted here on your phone, what would their reaction be?

If the gut instinct of the stranger (for our purposes: lurker-would-be-potential-member) would be to think you're a weirdo, send it to /r/WTF. I like vanilla gifs.. everyone may not be a huge cat fan, but most folks walking down the street wouldn't recoil at the sight of a funny/cute cat/dog gif.

Context matters a little bit too.. batch dance gifs tend to be a little foot loose for modding since they have some context/tradition behind them.

Anime isn't my jam, but its mostly harmless save for the risque stuff, and I don't often see it without discussion context (ie, posting an anime reaction gif to someone else's post). Some folks have an extreme negative reaction to anime, but no one has been able to verbalize that in a productive/logical way to make me understand their POV on it and thus is lives on in the hearts of weebs everywhere. Pretty much ditto for the political gifs except on days where I have a big ol' stick up my poop shoot.
