07/02 - Super Sunday!

I posted a quick upload of me doing the verse, just in case such situations arose.

Let me guess, is he freaked out by all the firework noises? That's how mine are reacting.

My cat's scared of the fireworks too. Usually he comes and greets me at the door when he hears my car door lock beep when I get home, but today he was hiding in the bathtub. I picked him up to give him some squeezes, but then he ran back in there. Poor little furry friends.

 

I guess I am lucky, mine raise their head look towards the window then have the look of " well shit can't see the pretty colors so back to sleep "

My dogs also hate thunderstorms, but that's pretty common among dogs, I think.

 

Mine just goes back to sleep whenever he hears thunder. He doesn't seem to mind the fireworks at all after the initial barkstorm yesterday, either. Looks like I got lucky here, I know how bad it can get.

 

Skeeter has anxiety attacks. He was a bait dog before I got him and he's a bit high strung because of it. He's much much better now, and is a very effective little watch dog, but still gets very upset when there is a bad storm and a bit anxious when there are fireworks. For whatever reason, he could give two shits about gun shots which is likely because Matt loves his shooty shoots and he just bribes Skeeter with treats whenever he's going out to pew pew, so I think Skeeter just associates that with extra treats.

He's not shaking or hyperventilating, so all things considered he's doing pretty well. If he wants to lay under my feet while I type, no biggie.

 

My dogs also hate it when random people keep telling them that their depression would be cured if they'd just accept God into their hearts.

Oh, wait, no that's me that hates that.

Matt's mom said something along those lines to me about 50 times the last time she was here. Also, that the best thing I could do after the assault was to just NEVER THINK ABOUT IT AGAIN.

So, basically the opposite of good advice.
