Someone at the airport once asked where I was from, since it was obvious I wasn't originally from SC. Matt makes a joke about my being from, "Lawn Guyland," and this guy responds by insisting he totally knows where I'm from then and imitates a Boston accent. I calmly fake laugh and reply, " Oh haha, no, I'm not from Boston." The guy insists this is what ALL yankees sound like and I proceed to self destruct while Matt tries to shoo me away from this guy before I have a meltdown. He spent the rest of the week chirping, "Park the car at the Harvard yard!" to me.

My cats basically talk to themselves all the time, so they think I have eyes in the back of my head when I yell at them without looking to not even think about scratching the table leg or whatever I can tell they want to do based off their little sounds. It's pretty funny. Cats are odd little creatures.

Off to a decent start..

 

I've grown up and spent my entire life in Virginia (and not northern VA either) and regularly get told I don't have a southern accent. I mean, I'm sure that there are a few words that maybe show my heritage, but overall not so much. I'm curious what causes certain people to not take on the accent of their area.

 

Still, if anyone accuses me of having some sort of Boston accent, I would be required to fight them. Just, eww, no.

It'll be funny to move across the country again and confuse people worse. Speaking of, still waiting to find out if we are moving to friggen Washington yet. This was a crappy time for Matt and I to be 4 hours apart time zone wise.
