    why do requesters feel they need to spend 15 minutes teaching me how to make a simpe 1 choice decision in a chance game with approximately 78 comprehension checks. please i graduated 5th grade i understand what you're trying to tell me

    She's not kidding. Photographer / Graphic design hobbyist here.

    There's something a little different when you get into the graphic and creative arts than there is when you're dealing with something like a transcription. People view graphic design like transcription, but it's not really. There's a lot more that thought, experience and training can bring to the party and you definitely get what you pay for. Fiverr sorta lowers the bar and makes people think "Oh, you've got photoshop, that guy's got photoshop, he's charging me $5 you're charging me $500, I'm going to get the same quality, so why should I pick you??"

    Because that guy who's charging you $5 (probably) doesn't understand the theory, doesn't take the time to actually think through and iterate on ideas and is just cranking out crappy logos that look like everybody elses crappy logo.

    The question is though, what sets fiverr apart from mturk? Mturk also has graphic design HITs for hella cheap. They're all the same beast, transcription was just an example.

    Eh, you get what you pay for when it comes to certain things, which is why I don't touch anything writing/PR/creative based on turk. I value my time and the minute I start working for less than I'm worth when it comes to what I do for a living, I've screwed myself over.

    But, that's just how the Bird operates.

    You really don't think a professional transcriptionist wouldn't*** say the same stuff you just did? Come on. I can't purchase a transcription foot pedal and pretend to be a pro any more than some guy can download PS and be a graphic artist.
