    Competition vs # of available HITs is pretty much it. If your refresh is less than a couple of seconds that can also contribute to the problem since you're likely seeing HITs long after other people.

    One scenario: If a HIT is 'new' to you (meaning you haven't seen it before) there's no way to really tell if that was the initial posting of it or a return/expire. If it was a return/expire, people that are running pandas are going to grab it before it shows up on HITs Available to You. Another way to think of it would be:

    Initial HIT post -> every HIT is taken -> no longer listed -> someone returns a HIT -> a Worker gets lucky with a panda -> shows up on HITs Avail search

    If you're talking about a non-batched hit there may only be a few hits available. Only counting here, MTC and hwtf there are 200 people online right now (some of those may be dupes though). Say someone posts a survey with 30 hits in the group, that can easily get snatched up in a few seconds just from people on the forums.

    Got a note about the Dumbos

    "Dear Turker,
    Thanks for your feedback, I'm now fixing this problem. I approved all tasks even without confirmation code.
    I'm sorry for this bugs and inconvienient. I canceled current HITs and I will publish it back when I fixed all this problems.
    After this pilot study, we are going to publish thousands of tasks on AMT."

    Min. 1500 characters (300 words) - Max. 3000 characters (600 words).
