When I moved in with my grandpa, he insisted that he needed new hearing aids, and he would wear them. So, I took him to all the appointments an hour away at the VA because he had hearing related disability, and they were free, and he got them...and never wore them. He was amazed when he could hear the rain on the roof and could not believe that it was normal. He stopped wearing them shortly after, because sound was overwhelming to him. (it was his 3rd pair of hearing aids that he refused to wear, so it was self inflicted silence...and he ended up getting a 4th pair that he refused to wear when he was visiting his son in Florida). So, even though it was a joke, seriously, don't wait on that type of stuff!

I do a lot of math in game development, but it's 8 at night, I'm tired as hell, my office is humid and I'm grouchy LOL

I am definitely going to need hearing aids at a young age. Apparently blasting headphones in my ears for years, and cranking the amp up to 11 during jam sessions isn't the greatest thing for your ears?

If there is a lot of background noise, like at a restaurant, I can't even hear the person next to me.
