    TV's are usually slightly different on super deals. A lot of the times you've got 1 fewer port, or some other minor thing that most people don't care about when you get those. Not always though.

    The data shows that HGST are the best drives though as far as failure rates go.

    They are pretty decent. I had one that came stock in a Mac Mini and it did over 800,000 starts before giving any type of S.M.A.R.T. marker. Most drives only do 600,000 and this was a 2.5" as well

    Honestly warranty isn't important to be and I have shucked external drives before. Assuming drives last longer than 2 years they would be replaced anyways and the data should already be backed up so nothing is lost.

    I haven't ever seen a HDD fail on me however but I have seen a SSD fail.

    I go through them. I have a PLEX server and watch it 24/7 cause I cut the cord long ago. SO, the raid array is always going.
