Huh, I don't think I've actually listened to Chilean metal before. I do know of at least one band from Brazil who plays Celtic inspired folk metal, though.

 

ABBA made sure of that. They set the bar so high everyone had to strive for perfection instead of just pumping out hits to stay relevant.

We should read Lords of Chaos for book club. It's all about Swedish/Norwegian black metal. Amazing book.

I've watched like half of Until the Light Takes Us and Varg occasionally talks about those days on his channel, but I haven't read the book yet, I have no idea how I keep completely forgetting it exists, I have to check it out for real now.

Probably using that one metal archive site, it lists bands by country and is pretty thorough from what I've seen.

So, Varg is out of jail now? The whole account of him killing Euronymous was pretty brutal. Plus, the part where singer of Mayhem shoots himself in the head and Euronymous doesn't call the cops, he just gathers up pieces of the dudes skull and brains to make a necklace and soup. Took me like sittings to read that book because I was so enthralled.

 

Dude, I went on an book-search spree last night and found that book and a few other metal related books I want to read. I might take your recommendation and buy it.
