I should warn you, though, he talks a lot about politics and considers himself an ethno-nationalist now, though he doesn't think of his own views as racist. Occasionally he talks about permaculture and his views on ancient Nordic traditions and those videos are neat. His kids are all cute as heck, too. He has a couple where he talked about his killing of Euronymous, and about the Dead thing all I can hear is Varg saying "He found Dead dead in his bed" and I know it's awful, but it's the way he says it.

 

You don't even have to like metal to enjoy that book. The author did a brilliant case study of the whole scene of Scandinavian metal and the history leading up to it. At the time I read it, I was mostly into Canadian indie rock, electronica, and hip hop, but still loved the book.

Yeah, I knew he already saw the world through his own filter from reading Lords of Chaos and he's actually smart enough to convince himself of his own beliefs. All those guys in that scene actually had these great educations because of how good the school system is in their countries.

 

He also talks about his time in prison and how while it may seem luxurious compared to other systems, the isolation is actually really good for reforming criminals. He has like 500 videos, so you'll forgive me if I can't be bothered to find it, but I imagine all that time spent alone helped with furthering his knowledge of history and religion.

 

Haha, aw! I took up drums when I was 16, but my drum teacher was really good about making me learn basics which was so important. He's a really close friend of mine and we liked all of the same music, so I'm sure it was hard for him to not just teach me songs I wanted to learn. I'd be like "I want to learn this song!" and he'd break it down to the actual techniques used, then we learned the song as almost a final exam on the previous lessons.
