    That's awesome. I learned guitar in like 6th grade and had a garage band through HS our drummer was great. In college some dudes wanted to play music but couldn't find a drummer so I just volunteered to learn. I taught myself and started getting basic rolls and fills worked out then moved on to figure out different styles of beats like rock and jazz and such and finally convinced the guys to play some easier stuff for me to start. We played 'Little Talks" from Monsters and Men and "Say it aint so" from Weezer and we had a lot of fun. I still go in the garage and jam from time to time but I always just keep a guitar around to play when the mood strikes.
