    For sure. The funny/ironic part is that she's not "my" intern so I not responsible for evaluating her & I have no hiring or firing power so....

    I'm convinced managers and supervisors everywhere just tend to dumb at times. I recently applied to a different internal position at my company and got it. I told my "team lead" about a month before the job posted that I was intending to apply to it. I told her this because I was the only technician that was able to do each shift. Out of like 50 techs, just little old me could do it all from our "buyer" position to the "IV room" to "narc tech" and everything in between. I told them this to train more people lol.

    Nobody has trained in any new positions, and they still haven't hired to cover my position, and it's been a month. And now I'm getting side eyes for being a "traitor" lol.

    At the end of the day, what are you going to do I guess?

    Yes, completely logical. Blame the person that tried to help. Burn the witch!

    Same kinda thing happened to me with my last job, except I didn't move internally, so I was really a traitor lol.

    Agree.

    I remember when I was telling my manager that I did not want to be the only person in our group that is able to do this analysis. He seemed surprised. It seems like the previous generation really valued being the go-to expert on things & sought out positions where they would be the only person capable of something. I'm not sure that's valued among my generation at work.
